Quinta da Alameda

In the lands of Santar

“What defines Quinta da Alameda is its terroir.
From here comes a pure Dão wine.”

Our Story

Acquired by the ancestors of the Borges da Gama family from the Earls of Santar in 1826, Quinta da Alameda is located in the most noble "terroir" of the Dão region, overlooking the town of Santar, in a landscape dominated by its imposing stone tower.

With a history that spans three centuries, in lands where vines and wine interlace since immemorial times, Quinta da Alameda is today a faithful portrait of passion for wine and nature.

Home of great wines

Dão Region

On the immense plateau of granite soil protected by the Estrela, Montemuro and Caramulo mountains, the Dão region is one of Portugal's most noble wine regions. Being the birthplace of elegant and aristocratic wines, its vineyards carved clearings through the pine forests to develop unique and sophisticated wines.

Dão, a land of great red and white grape varieties, where Touriga Nacional and Encruzado are at their peak, is home to incomparable wines for their freshness, elegance, texture, and minerality - wines with an unusual ageing capacity and gastronomic potential for perfect pairings.
